Harry Chinchinian

Snow Shadows

First Lesson

(Photo of the Artist 2006)

Harry Chinchinian has drawn and sketched as long as he can remember. In the past twenty-five years, he has been primarily producing oil paintings and studied under Edward Norton Ward in Monterey, California; Charles Movalli in Nice, France and Cornwall, England; and Ohaness Berberian in Rigby, Idaho. His pictures often reflect the various styles of his teachers, all of whom promoted the “en plein air” method of working outside the studio in the fresh air. His paintings have become popular and are in private homes and institutions.

The still life studies are of flowers grown in his garden, the children are often composites of his family, and the landscapes are often around his home in Idaho-Washington where he lives. Also, he is especially fond of the varied landscape in the McCall, Idaho area during the spring thaw and winter.

Comments about paintings and this website are appreciated.
